About the Program
The Halls of Music Rock Band Program is designed to give young musicians the opportunity to play in a group setting. Each student group meets for an hour rehearsal once a week. They rehearse and prepare songs of their choosing with Bobby’s guidance and assistance.
These groups are a great way for students to develop their musical skills in a group setting and put their skills to use in a practical way. It is also a wonderful way to make new friends, as our rock band students are a mix of public, private, and home-schooled kids from all over the Middle Georgia area.
Prospective students must be evaluated before joining the class to determine if they are ready for this group environment. In some cases, private lessons may be required before joining the rock band classes.
Performance Opportunities
In addition to the weekly rehearsals, our rock band students have several performance opportunities throughout the year. Not only do they perform at our regular student recitals, they have also performed live on Macon’s radio station 100.9 The Creek, at the Cherry Blossom Festival, and at the Allman Brothers Big House Museum.
